• Visual Studio Code: C# Dev Kit Now Generally Available (Almir Vuk) - As a .NET developer that spend a lot of time in Linux, I was already using a lot VSCode and started using DevKit curious to see if if would really helps. I felt empowered. Great work, and congrats on the GA that was fast!

Programming

• How to version your ASP.NET API (Dennis Frühauff)- Versioning will stay easy and hard at the same time...But me must give ot our best.... Right?

• Announcing .NET 8 RC2 - .NET Blog (Jon Douglas) - So much in this next release,the team is seeking feedback, if you have some they will be pleased to listen.

• Introducing Windows Terminal Canary (Christopher Nguyen) - That's a brilliant idea how many times I heard people asking to get the earliest bits faster...Well here it is!

• Blazor Basics: Creating a Todo App using Blazor WebAssembly (Claudio Bernasconi) - A tutorial like I like them: simple And where we do stuff! Great place to get started.

• New experiences designed to make every developer more productive on Windows 11 (Mike Harsh) - Damn! I'm very tented to go right away and reinstall Windows on my dev PC, it looks so great.

• Get Started with the Microcks Docker Extension for API Mocking and Testing (Ajeet Singh Raina, Yacine Kheddache, Hugo Guerrero) - This looks like an amazing and simple to use tool to test all our API.How doesn't need it.

• Windows Subsystem for Linux September 2023 update (Craig Loewen) - Wow! So many new improvement. Its time for an update which one will it be for you WSL -update or -pre-release update ?

• New Azure DevOps scopes now available for Microsoft Identity OAuth delegated flow apps - Azure DevOps Blog (Angel Wong) - Security is the job of everyone , right? Nice update for Azure DevOps.

• Hugo + VSCode + Docker = ❤️ (Aaryn Smith) - After an upgrade of Hugo or the theme, one of my site wasn't being generated anymore. Happy to to find a that devContainer, I will be able to investigate quickly.

• Windows Terminal Preview 1.19 Release (Christopher Nguyen) - Cool updates! I love that right-click web search! You know... when there is an error it will be so much efficient! An that was a community contribution! Fantastic!

• Unlocking DevOps Magic: Dive into the Azure Kubernetes Service Wonderland in Visual Studio Code! (Japhlet Nwamu, Tatsat Mishra) - Great tools that really simplify the life of Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS). It was the topic of an episode of open at Microsoft.

• Introducing TypeChat with Anders Hejlsberg (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - It's the second time I hear about TypeChat, remember Reading Notes #565, it seams extremely interesting.
• How to rally support for your big idea (Modern Mentor) - Listening to winning strategies to make sure our biggest ideas have good start... It's always a good idea.

• Walkthroughs in the Windows Terminal Repository (Mike Griese) - Contributing to big oss project is challenging.The Windows Terminal team had a cool idea to make it easier.There is a video version of this blog is you prefer.

• Microsoft PowerToys v0.73.0: A Comprehensive Overview (Kunal Chowdhury) - Cool post that shares new utilities in PowerToys and explains the optimization of the others.

• Navigating Developer Burnout: Causes, Impacts, and Strategies for a Ba (Christopher Johnson) - A truthful and realistic post. If you never been exposed to burnout, take 2 minutes to read this.

• Who are the Ops Behind the DevRel Curtain? (Ep 80) (Community Pulse) - Interesting episode about DevRel and more particularly two who are doing less visible work. Helping those who are helping... And a tiny bit about bread! Yell done, David!

• 60. How security is everywhere & the balance between legislation and innovation - with Scott Helme (Betatalks the podcast) - An episode about security of course but also tech, cars, coffee, and question like does your oven should really have internet access?

• Cake - Cake v2.3.0 released (Mattias Karlsson) - Nice to see more features available in Cake. You can do complex and advanced stuff now.

• I changed my mind about writing new JavaScript frameworks (Salma Alam-Naylor) - JavaScript is its own universe with so many options and variations. Looking forward to seeing the WTF tool and learning more about how she builds it.

• HeatWave and the Latest Evolution of MySQL with Nipun Agarwal (Screaming in the Cloud) - MySQL database as a service on Oracle cloud, this sounds interesting and looks like the price is too.

• Developing .NET on AWS with Isaac Levin (.NET Rocks!) - Yes!! Of course, .NET is everywhere but now we hear about it! A captivating episode where Isaac makes a quick tour of all the possibilities for .Net developers on ASW.

• 137. Anti-Time Management with Richie Norton (Part 1)-id2920271-id538368995) (The Greg McKeown Podcast) - I was not sure what to expect from "Anti-Time Management" and I like what I heard. looking forward to listening to part two.
• Rob Richardson: Web Services in .NET 6 - Episode 213 (Azure DevOps Podcast) - What a great episode covering so much! Expect to learn more about how things work like the authentification and authorization.

• Securing Containers, First Steps in Docker and Kubernetes (DevOps and Docker Talk) - Because security is an important topic, this episode is worth your time.

• ApiController Attribute in ASP.NET Core Web API (Code Maze) - This post contained many best practices and detailed explanations to get a great API and make sure the user experience is the best possible.

• Continuous Integration Vs. Continuous Delivery: Know the Differences & Draw a Line (Hiren Dhaduk) - This post is very interesting as it describes both parts of the flow, and lists the benefices and challenges.

• Incremental ASP.NET Migration Tooling Preview 2 (Mike Rousos) - The second preview already! Things are looking good...

• Understanding your middleware pipeline in .NET 6 with the Middleware Analysis package (Andrew Lock) - This post introduces a nice package to have better visibility into our code. Nice.

• New Resources to Get Started with .NET MAUI - .NET Blog (Matt Soucoup) - Are you planning to learn something new this summer? I suggest you .NET MAUI, to build an application that can go everywhere. This post shares tons of references to get you started.

• 50 shades of .NET on AWS (François Bouteruche) - A nice, like-real, story that helps understand how decisions are taken when planning in cloud architecture (here AWS).

• Deploy ASP.NET Core websites to Azure App Service with Azure Pipelines (Mark Heath) - Very interesting tutorial about azure DevOps pipeline.

• Introducing the Azure Static Web Apps CLI (Anthony Chu) - Amazing tools this swa CLI is very interesting and useful.

Programming

• Light and dark mode in just 14 lines of CSS (Salma Alam-Naylor) - Lovely there is no real reason to not do it.

• A New Architecture for APIs (Anant Jhingran) - A very interesting paper that highlights the strengths of GraphQL.

• Add an Admin Tab to Windows Terminal with gsudo (Sam Cogan) - That's a pretty a neet tool!

• Development Container CLI (Brigit Murtaugh) - Oh! This is fantastique, I need to try that, I'm assuming we will be able to give a name to the instance and that it will make reopening a container easier.

• Docker Host network alternatives for Windows containers (Vinicius Apolinario) - Networks are hard, at least for me, and this post shows nice alternatives and explains many things.

• Studio 2022 Extensions with Mads Kristensen (.NET Rocks!) - Whenever I listen Mads Kristensen talking about Visual Studio, my brain goes 🤯 Awesome, awesome episode.

Miscellaneous

• The Azure Cosmos DB Journey to .NET 6 - .NET Blog (Vinod Sridharan) - Learn how Azure Cosmo DB API gateway is low latency and use .Net in many different scenarios to achieve great performance, in this post.
