• Creating an Azure Function from the Command Line (Jason N. Gaylord) - A nice tutorial that helps us to get started.

Programming

• Multiple Environments in ASP.NET Core (Code Maze) - Nice Asp.Net MVC tutorial.
• ASP.NET Core Series: Blazor (Jeremy Likness, Dan Roth) - Nice video to get started with Blazor.
• Developing on Docker with the new and improved Visual Studio Container Tools (and WSL2) (Scott Hanselman) - A great example that shows how easier it is now to start working with containers on Windows.
• Unit Testing in ASP .NET Core 3.1 (Shahed C) - A nice post that shows how to get started with xUnit the voted most popular test framework.

Miscellaneous

• APIs in the 2020s Panel (.NET Rocks!) - A virtual panel of awesome speakers that talked about API, REST, GraphQL, oData and so more. Lovely episode.
• 471: How to Say No Without Saying No, with Lois Frankel (Coaching for Leaders) - Saying No... being open. Really interesting topic. I put Lois Frankel: Nice Girls Don’t Speak Up or Stand Out in my to read list, that book maybe written for women in mind, but I think it is really interesting.
• Leveraging Our Emotional Goals (Developer Tea) - An interesting episode that talk about goals and what we need to do (or not) to achieved them.
• 203: Updating Open Source Projects (https://castbox.fm/episode/203%3A-Updating-Open-Source-Projects-id2117504-id267802246) - As I just create my first version in one of my open-source project I found the topic more than interesting... Thank you, great show.

Miscellaneous

• 20 productivity tools for the Linux terminal (Alan Smithee) - Cool app to try for our terminal.
• How to Stop Windows 10 Updates (5 Methods) (Mohammed Siddiqui) - I think you should only prevent auto-update when you really know what you are doing. Updates are easy to forget and therefore your PC could be at risk. That said, sometime it could really be a must.5misc.windows.update]
• Mirroring your Presence Status from the Microsoft Graph in Teams to LIFX or Hue bias lighting (Scott Hanselman) - Did this post just created new needs?! And you should check the keynote video linked to this post it was really a good one.

Books

  The Impossible First: From Fire to Ice—Crossing Antarctica Alone

  Author: Colin O'Brady

  An incredible adventure yes around the globe, but more important over the personal limits. I found this book very inspiring. I felt following him across the Antarctica... In the blizzard or in those deep moment. Great memoir, great adventure.

• Creating and Packaging a .NET Standard library | Visual Studio Blog (Sayed) - A very cool tutorial that explains all the steps to get to sharing your NuGet package.
• How to resolve a git merge conflict ( Brian Breniser) - Nice tutorial Git merges are so frequent...
• Windows Terminal Preview v0.11 Release | Windows Command Line (Kayla) - Hmmmmm.That terminal! Awesome.

Podcasts

• Michelle Khare - Her YouTube Series "Challenge Accepted": Training with the FBI, Marines & NASA (That Creative Life) - A very inspiring episode. We can push our limits with a lot of works.

Miscellaneous

• This Is The #1 Ritual You Need To Do Every Day (Pandemic Edition) - Barking Up The Wrong Tree (Eric Barker) - A very nice story, and very simple things we can all do to say, happy healthy humans.
• How to Remote Desktop (RDP) into a Windows 10 Azure AD joined machine (Scott Hanselman) - Nice little tips here to RDPing.
• Injecting Services Into ASP.NET Razor Views (Khalid Abuhakmeh) - A nice and simple post that explains the injection in the newest .Net framework.
• Local Azure Storage Development with Azurite, Azure SDKs, and Azure Storage Explorer (Jon Gallant) - A really cool tool that virtualized completely storage into a local version.Very interesting.
• Quarantine work is not Remote work (Scott Hanselman) - It's not normal...

• ASP.NET Core Apps Observability (Francisco) - A great post that shares, and explains how to implement logs, traces, and metrics in modern application.

• Azure Cost Management + Billing updates – February 2020 (Michael Flanakin) - Wow, an incredible update on all front. New features, new PowerBi app, new APIs, and so much more.

• Durable Functions Upgrade Strategies (Mark Heath) - A real gold mine of information about best practices when migrating. Of course great when migrating durable functions, but also true for any services.

Programming

• How to set up a tab profile in Windows Terminal to automatically SSH into a Linux box - Scott Hanselman (Scott Hanselman) - If you've been hacking or just copy-pasting config without understanding to mutch, this post will explain how to do you own version.

• Announcing PowerShell 7.0 (Joey) - That awesome post will explain what's in PowerShell 7 and why we should care... Because yes... we should.

• Docker Desktop for Windows Home is here! - Docker Blog (Ben De St Paer-Gotch) - Fantastic news! And so easy to install. Lovely.

• How to merge a pull request 🔥🔥🔥 (Steve Belovarich) - Interesting post that shares some best practices when merging.

Podcast

• Starting a profitable business in six weeks with Courtland Allen (Software Engineering Unlocked) - A really interesting discussion about success in tech. All the work that it required, but also the timing, and the people you keep around you in the journey.

• #28: Frank Boucher - Live Stream Coding (The Solo Coder Podcast) - Shameless plug... But a good episode nevertheless.

• #361: The Generosity of Scars with Scott Mann (The EntreLeadership Podcast) - First when I eared the guess was a military I thought it will be full of war references... But no! This episode is all about human. Our self, are we feel alone and strangely the fact that we are not. Great episode and I really liked Scott Mann verbs.

• How to Start and Grow A Podcast That Gets Listeners - Twitch Advice (Stream Coach: Twitch Stream Tips) - I like how Ashley treats her topics. She does it in a different way. In my journey to learn about how to provide great streaming content, this episode was a nice complement.

Book

The Infinite Game 

by: Simon Sinek

 I really enjoyed this book. This book gave me vocabulary. It was putting words on ideas, explaining clearly some feelings that I wasn't able to express. Like when you know something is good or bad, but that you can explain why. It's less impressive than Start with Why, but definitely, something to read.

• Creating a RESTful Serverless API with Azure Functions and MongoDB (Will Velida) - This is a great tutorial that uses Azure function mongo and c# to build a project from scratch. It is simple enough to make sense and be easy to understand.

• Running Containers in Azure with Rancher (Tom Callway) - This post introduces Rancher, a tool thatt looks really interesting.

• Step-by-Step: Finding and Analyzing Microsoft Azure Cloud Usage Costs (Sonia Cuff ) - Great post that provides a few tips to better see or highlight some cost sending in Azure.

Programming

• Build your own Azure CLI Extensions (Michael Crump) - A very cool tutorial that explains how to do our own extension.

• How to set up Docker within Windows System for Linux (WSL2) on Windows 10 (Scott Hanselman) - Nice update; tons of info about wsl, docker, ssh and more.

• Pulling your DEV.TO Stats into a Google Sheet (Jeremy Morgan) - That's a cool little project, and I'm pretty sure it can be used by a lot of authors...on devto.

• Using Cognitive Services: Custom Vision Service with Azure IoT Edge - Cloud | Mobile | Edge (Jared Rhodes) - A nice tutorial that shows how to use Python and vscode to create an awesome app.

• What's New in Visual Studio Online | Visual Studio Blog (Allison Buchholtz-Au) - Wow, a turbo mode! But this time(remember the turbo on our old 486 beige pc), it makes totally sens...

Miscellaneous

• What are Azure CLI Extensions? (Michael Crump) - An interesting first article of a series. This one introduces us to the extension... Hmmm. I think I have an idea.

• Migrating your applications to Azure using Virtual Machine Scale Sets, Packer and Virtual Machine extensions – Part 3 (Dominique St-Amand) - This is the third post in a series and very details tutorial that explains why and how to do your scaleset settings.

Programming

• Blazor by Example - A dismissable banner (Jon Hilton) - A really interesting post that explains how to build a webpage by showing it by iterations. If you know me, you know those are my favorite.

• Command line tricks for managing your messy open source repository (Victoria Drake) - Nice post that shares a few tips of all kind, in a loose style... Which ones did you not know, or think about?

• Dungeons & Dragons Max Hit Points Calculator (Rachel Soderberg) - A nice and different little project to learn some c# in a Windows form environment.

Podcasts

• 0240 - Anthony Giretti - Le protocole gRPC (Visual Studio Talk Show) - Nice episode where they talk about gRPC and gRPC web, where it comes from, why it's different than the previous version, and how it's possible to use it with .Net. All that in French!

• Calling an Azure Signalr Instance from an Azure function (pcmichaels) - This is a nice tutorial to show how to connect different services together.
• Updating to Azure Functions v3 in Visual Studio (Brandon Minnick) - Nice quick post that shows how easy it is to start using the new version.
• Using Azure Functions Durable HTTP APIs (Mark Heath) - This post explains well how to use this new feature in the durable functions.

Programming

• Announcing .NET Interactive - Try .NET includes .NET Notebooks and more (Scott Hanselman) - This .Net interactive is really interesting.
• GitHub Enterprise is now free through Microsoft for Startups (Kelly Stirman) - This is fantastic news and a great opportunity for startups. If you are a startup, check out this program!
• It's time for you to install Windows Terminal (Scott Hanselman) - Definitely an incredible tool this Windows Terminal. Try it you will see. And the thing I like is it never stops to amaze me with new features.
• Manage secrets and more with the GitHub Actions API (Chris Patterson) - New API, new possibility with the runner... This is really interesting... I need to try that.
• Reading RSS Feeds With .NET Core (Nong Vang) - I don't know why I always thought it was complicated to parse an RSS feed. A very nice quick tutorial.
• VS Code Integration with GitHub and Azure (Robert Green, Aaron Powell) - A fantastic 10 minutes video that shows the most frequent scenarios of developers using GitHub and how easy it is with VSCode.

• Surviving as a remote tech employee with Jayson J. Phillips | Hanselminutes - Fresh Talk and Tech for Developers (Scott Hanselman, Jayson J. Phillips) - As a full-time remote worker for the past 6-7 years, I can easily identify myself in this podcast episode. And you gave me some ideas that I didn't think about... Awesome!
• Your Todo application is too complex or not complex enough (Scott Hanselman) - Learning by reading code is great, but we need some sources. Well in this post you will find a GitHub repo that is a gold mine.

• Serverless HTTP With Durable Functions ( Jeremy Likness) - Great post that shows, with code examples, the new functionalities for the Durable Functions.

• ASP.NET Core 3.0 MVC Secure Authentication | Okta Developer (Lee Brandt) - Nice tutorial to add authentication to an existing .Net Core App.
• Custom Terminals and User Interface (UI) in Windows Terminal (Jeremy Likness) - Learn how to get and customize your Windows Terminal in this quick post.
• GitHub Actions for Azure is now generally available (Usha Narayanabhatta) - Fantastic news..and perfect timing... At least for me!
• GitHub Learning Path (Premier Developer) - Nice source of info to get started or... Get better.
• What is Blazor? A Tutorial on Building Web Apps with Authentication (Andrea Chiarelli) - Great article that describes in detail how to create a simple blazor app with authentification.

• Easily move WSL distributions between Windows 10 machines with import and export! (Scott Hanselman) - First I was Whaaat!? Very simple yet useful feature no need now do redo all your customization on all your computer...just export and import.

• What's the difference between a console, a terminal, and a shell? (Scott Hanselman) - Fantastic post short and clear. It's so simple, yet could still be confusing at the same time. Well, until you read this post.

Programming

• Now is the time to make a fresh new Windows Terminal profiles.json (Scott Hanselman) - I have never been so excited about a terminal. But this one wants to do things right, option and flexibility without being too complex to use and setup.

• Blazor Server in .NET Core 3.0 scenarios and performance (Daniel Ruth) - Great post that explains which version of Blazor could be used in different scenarios and when it better to use something else.

• ASP.NET Core and Blazor updates in .NET Core 3.0 Release Candidate 1 (Daniel Ruth) - Wonderful! The release candidate is already available.

• How to build with Cake on Linux using Cake.CoreCLR or the Cake global tool (Andrew Lock) - Great post playing with .Net Core on the Linux side...does v3.0 will have an impact...

• Run an External Executable in ASP.NET Core (Changhui Xu) - An interesting post, very clear.

• Visual Studio Remotes: Simplifying developer environments (Martin Moxon) - If you didn't try yet the remote feature of VSCode, read this post and give it a try. It's a game-changing feature.

• Please, everyone, put your entire development environment in Github (Burke Holland) - OMG! It is sooooo simple! I was already using containers to develop, but didn't know VSCode could manage that for me! And make it easily reproducible!

• 10 Git Tricks to Save Your Time and Sanity (Jacob Herrington) - Really useful (and even cool) git commands. Try them you'll see what I mean.
• ASP.NET Core and Blazor updates in .NET Core 3.0 Preview 8 (Sourabh Shirhatti) - Nice update. Be aware of a few breaking changes...but it's all for the best.
• Build Data-Driven Web Apps Blazing Fast with Blazor and OData ( Jeremy Likness) - This post is a great tutorial that explains how to build a complete todo list use that tech. Really cool.
• Developing Docker-Powered Applications on Windows with WSL 2 - Docker Blog (Antonis Kalipetis) - That new Docker desktop version looks very promising
• GitKraken & Glo Boards Now Support GitHub Actions (Lauren Witte Girard) - Great. Now we only just need the GitHub action...
• Investigating Drag and Drop with Blazor (Chris Sainty) - Interesting share of an experiment.

Living with the Monks: What Turning Off My Phone Taught Me about Happiness, Gratitude, and Focus

I really enjoyed this book. Yes it's light and funny, but don't get fool, there is a deeper message here. I think Jessy wins his challenge by going into a monastery so we don't have to. We all have what it takes to live a more purposeful life, we just need to pause. Showdown, to go faster, do less to do more... Embrace the silence.

• Adding Reaction Gifs for your Build System and the Windows Terminal (Scott Habselman) - Brilliant post of a funny idea, and if you have a few minutes go check Tyler's stream it was awesome.

• Choosing the Right React Datepicker UI Component (Eric Bishard ) - This post will help you to avoid a few gotchas when selecting your datepicker.

• Docker ❤️ WSL 2 - The Future of Docker Desktop for Windows (Simon Ferquel) - Wow! Very exciting news! This new WLS 2 is getting better every day!

• A proper terminal for Visual Studio (Scott Hanselman) - Hmmm. I like that idea...
• VS Code Quick Tip: Install Curl to Speed Up REST API Testing -- Visual Studio Magazine (David Ramel) - Great way to speed up API testing indeed, and very simple too.

• Introducing the #Azure #CosmosDB Change Feed Processor Library (Judy Hanwen Shen) - Cool post that lists a few scenarios where CosmoDB could really help you.

Miscellaneous

• Build apps faster with Azure Serverless (Raman Sharma) - Full automatic and all on demand, today's cloud offer a lot.
