• Visual Studio Code Tools for Azure Revamped (David Ramel) - Time flies! Five years already... And probably the first extension I personally ever installed.

Programming

• Who should mark PR comments as resolved? (Dan Clarke) - In your team who is doing it?

• 14 Containerization Use Cases: Hit a Home Run with Containers (Hiren Dhaduk) - Nice list of real-life story and situation where docker shines and empower.

• Adding a CLA Bot to Your GitHub Repository (Calvin) - This seems simple to do... I assumed adding a bot in GitHub was more complicated than that. Nice post.

• Keep your experiments separate (Jessica Joy Kerr) - This post shares good practices when adding features to our app... Because we never know the full impact when we start.

• Static code analysis with NDepend (Andreas Nesheim) - I'm always curious about those tools. I think they could also be useful when connected to your CICD and automation processes.

• When WebAssembly Replaces Docker (B. Cameron Gain) - Interesting post that explains why WASM is indeed more interesting than docker in some scenarios.

Miscellaneous

• 5 great books for the summer (Bill Gates) - There are a few books that I put on my to-read list. There you go.

• Azure Cost Management and Billing updates – August 2021 | Azure blog and updates (Michael Flanakin) - Pretty nice updates this month to better see the info from inside the portal or outside with new downloadable options, and Power Bi.

• Deconstructing Azure PowerShell APIs with Fiddler (Developer Support) - I love seeing those behind the scenes, and this one explains how we can do it ourselves.

Programming

• How WebAssembly Could Streamline Cloud Native Computing (Mary Branscombe) - Interesting post. I didn't play a lot of work kubernetes yet, so I will say the idea seems brilliant.

• My Ultimate PowerShell prompt with Oh My Posh and the Windows Terminal (Scott Hanselman) - This is the perfect post to get started. You have everything to build a pretty decent customized prompt and from there you just tweak it for your preferences... Don't be scare everything is very well documented.

• Boost your productivity with Productivity Power Tools Extensions in Visual Studio 2022! (Leslie Richardson) - This next VisualStudio is looking so promising....very excited

Podcast

• How to Earn More Keynote Speaking Opportunities From Your Podcast (Feed Your Brand) - Interesting discussion on this episode. We could also summarize it by saying just be good to your host.

• SPI 502: All Things Live Video (the Best Way to Connect to Your Audience) with Luria Petrucci (The Smart Passive Income Online Business and Blogging Podcast) - That's a hot topic: live! Yep, it is indeed different from recorded content, so what do we need to do to be better at it? Very nice episode.

• Chocolatey Software Blog | Announcing the Chocolatey for Business QDE Azure Environment (Chocolatey Team) - Really cool to see awesome tools like this one now available in the marketplace and with what looks like a very interesting offer for businesses.

• Play with Proxy in Azure Function App (Kevin Li) - A very interesting post about the proxies contained in Azure Functions... Such an interesting tool.

Programming

• How to Use GitHub Codespaces With Your docfx Project (Sean Killeen) - Excellent post that shows how to set up and configure our project so anybody can have a functional dev environment in one click.

• How to Handle Global Exception Handler with C# Web API (Charris Herrera) - Perfect post to get started with exception management in our projects. And there are even C# code snippets.

• The Three Pillars of WebAssembly (Connor Hicks) - A nice short post that describes the essentials of WASM.

Podcast

• DevSecOps or SecDevOps with Wabbi's Brittany Greenfield (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - DevSecOps vs. SecDevOps vs. DevOpsSec... A lovely episode, I read or hear those buzzwords often very happy to better understand what they mean.

• SPI 500: Session 500! A Mystery Host Flips the Script! (The Smart Passive Income Online Business and Blogging Podcast) - I have been listening to this podcast for a while and I really liked learning more about Pat and how all this started.

• Take Control of Your Life and Business with Christy Wright (The EntreLeadership Podcast) - Productivity equal working less. So we need to take the time to plan or structure our days. A nice episode about a hot topic.

• Productive, Happy, Focused—How Small Habits Bring Big Success (Modern Mentor) - This is gold. So many times I heard people that they fail at changing their habits because they do too much at once.

• Tips and Tricks and Best Practices for Hybrid Meetings with Microsoft Teams and more (Scott Hanselman) - I love that post. We learned so much in the last months. Now that all have experienced the remote, let's keep that in mind and build best practices on top of it.

• Azure Cost Management and Billing updates – July 2021 (Michael Flanakin) - Many updates are introduced in this post, and there are also videos if you prefer.

• Bring Your Own Storage in Azure Web App (Kevin Li) - Interesting post that explains how the details about how to do it. I wish there were more details about some good scenarios of when to use that.

Programming

• PowerShell: Download script or file from GitHub (Thomas Maurer) - That cool! I wish it was as simple as the bash curl, but it's a start.

• ASP.NET Core updates in .NET 6 Preview 6 (Daniel Roth) - Nice post that explains the new features, how to get started, and also how to migrate.

• Blazor Debugging Improvements in Rider 2021.2 (Rachel Appel) - That's super cool debugging wasm...

• Welcome to the Community Toolkit! (Michael Hawker) - A new name, more friends so much news for this group.

Miscellaneous

• Should you attend yet another meeting? (Luise Freese) - Think about it... We all do it. Nice and funny diagram.

• Blazor - Getting Started with Localization (Cody Merritt Anhorn) - Nice quick tutorial to get started.

• Generate a GitHub Actions workflow with Visual Studio or the dotnet CLI (Damian Brady) - This is extremely interesting for all .Net developers. We now have a super-easy way to create a workflow from everywhere using the CLI.

• How to fix Blazor WASM base path problems (Kristoffer Strube) - Interesting post that suggests a complete solution for a common issue. Could it be added to the framework and become native?

• Using Environments for Approval Workflows With GitHub Actions (Aaron Powell) - Pretty cool novelty looking forward to testing it.

Miscellaneous

• Looking back on Software Development in 2020 and forward to 2021 (Scott Hanselman) - A very interesting post and excellent follow up on the podcast topic. So after all it looks like 2020 was good at something.

• Cross-platform diagnostic tools for .NET Core (Scott Hanselman) - Interesting sets of dotnet commands.

• .NET Conf 2020 and Community Events this October | Xamarin Blog (microsoft.com) - Nice event coming up mid-November...

• 6 Tools I use for Web Development (Jakob Klamser) - A nice list of great tools. I'm surprised to read that notion would be more flexible then OneNote, I heard a lot of good from it but never tried it.

• Bringing the browser developer tools to Visual Studio Code (Microsoft Edge Team) - Cool...I need to try that.

• Render diagrams on the fly in your Blazor apps (Jon Hilton) - A cool and simple way to add graphics inside your App, wonderful!

• WebAssembly Could Be the Key for Cloud Native Extensibility (Joab Jackson) - Oh, interesting topics, I need to check that podcast.

• Azure portal August 2020 update (Angie Doyle) - Wonderful Updates better search, better productivity.Very nice.

• Path based routing in Azure Application Gateway with Azure WebApps (Dominique St-Amand) - Great post that explains how to get the most of our domain name and workaround a little limitation of the portal.

Programming

• How to Develop an ASP.NET Core Application Using Visual Studio Code (Mathankumar Rajendran) - The perfect post to get started without impacting too much (installing heavy software) your computer.

• Configuring Codespaces for .NET Core Development (Justin Yoo ) - This post goes deeper than the usual hello word type of post about Codespace. It really shows an example of configuration.

• Have you built your GitHub Profile README yet? (Mayank Choudhary) - What?! This is super cool, and I didn't know about it.

• How to Work With Client-Side Blazor (Jon Hilton ) - This is a great simple post to get started with Blazor web assembly. Simple enough so all can understand what it is and what's nice about it.

• Introducing Blazor Automatic Kingdom (null) - Interesting of the popular blocky UI/UX with Blazor.

• Introduction to SVELTE (Sohaib Nehal) - As I rediscover JavaScript, it's fascinating to see how much this language as evolve and now have so many great frameworks.

• WSL 2 Support is coming to Windows 10 Versions 1903 and 1909 | Windows Command Line (Tyler) - Yeah! One of my computers is not in the insider program and was still with WSL1... But not anymore.

Podcasts

• 087: Learning Azure with Gwyneth Pena (CloudSkills.fm) - In this episode, you will discover a freshly awarded MVP, a brilliant content creator, and super energetic women. Wonderful.

• Why you should double down on intergration testing with Kent C. Dodds (Software Engineering Unlocked) - Tests are important we all know that (well we should), but there is a shift about the type of tests that are the best one recently... Interesting.

• Working in Public: Open Source Software with Nadia Eghbal (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - A very interesting conversation about the open-source work today. She is the author of the book Working in Public, which looks fascinating.

• #169 – Thinking One Step Ahead to Grow Your Business through PR with Dmitry Dragilev of JustReachOut.io (The Indie Hackers Podcast) - I think this quote used summarize perfectly: Just because you built it doesn't mean people will come. Great discussion.

• The Shorts -- Twindom (The Dirtbag Diaries) - A really touching story of two sisters and a hiking trip that changed her lives.

• Getting Value from appsettings.json in .NET Core (Jeetendra Gund ) - Nice little quick tutorial the read values in an MVC structured app.

• Building a notifications client with Xamarin and Azure (Laurent Bugnion) - A very nice post that describe how Laurent started to build his cross platforms tools. Sharing the gotchas and a few tips along this first post of the series.

• Which Database should I use in my Azure Serverless App? (Mark Heath) - Nice overview of the type of data storage in Azure.

Miscellaneous

• 7 principles for modern tech leaders (William Peachey) - Nice post about the evolution of roles in our field of expertise and what could/ should be a a leader roles.

• Do I need to code in my free time to be a good developer? (Maxim Chechenev) - Interesting point of view about a trend. I personally think the answer is not yes or no... But its depends or it required more details.

• Using Visual Studio Codespaces with .NET Core | .NET Blog ( Tim Heuer) - Codespace can simplify so much your dev or testing experience!

• Chocolatey with Rob Reynolds (.NET Rocks!) - Awesome episode talking about all the good and the great of Chocolatey that awesome package manager.

• A path to technical leadership with Keavy McMinn (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - Because the most interesting path are more then often not the straight one... Great talk about the choice we make in our lives...

• #41: Scott Hanselman - A Few Minutes of Wisdom and Technology [S02-E20] (The Solo Coder Podcast) - Just great. Yeah, listen to it... I just wish it was longer ;p

• What’s New in Microsoft Teams | Build Edition 2020 - A lot of nice new features added to Teams. Looking forward to try them.

• Windows PowerToys FancyZones is the essential window manager for Windows 10 (Scott Hanselman) - In this short post Scott gives more details about how he was managing his windows during MS Build and how you can also do it.

• Git Branching Strategies (Chris Ayers) - Nice post that describes 3 popular solutions base on your teams' skills and experience.

• Making Docker lovely for Developers with Simon Ferquel (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - Incredibly interesting podcast episode where they discuss about Docker on Windows. How it was working before and how it works with WSL2. A must.

• SPI 422: Email Marketing Audit: Which of These Email Marketing Strategies Are You Actually Doing? (The Smart Passive Income Online Business and Blogging Podcast) - I don't have an email list, I don't have anything to sell. However, sometimes I wish I had one to share some event coming, or new videos/post/live... I really like the respectful approach.

• 5 Reasons It's Better to Be A Small Streamer - Twitch Tips (Stream Coach: Twitch Stream Tips | Partner Interviews | Pro Advice) - A nice episode that list some advantages of being a smaller streamer. I've been streaming for one year now, I'm pretty happy with my journey, learned a lot, and still learn so much. I don't feel disadvantaged, but that's maybe just because I don't really focus on growth.

• 469: See What Really Matters, with Greg McKeown (Coaching for Leaders) - Nice episode that talks about the essential, how to find it, how to not pass over it. Very interesting. The book, Essentialism, from seems interesting too... And hop! On the to-read list.

Miscellaneous

• Whiteboarding for Developers: Yes, You Have To ( Chris Gustafson) - An excellent post that will help you to remember why whiteboarding is important. It will also provide nice guidance to restart doing it efficiently.

• Why to OneNote instead of Whiteboard? (Vesa Nopanen) - I love OneNote ...but strangely never draw inside of it... I'll definitely give it a try.

• Azure Functions with QueueTriggers and .NET Core – Configuration and Troubleshooting (Jeff) - Poor Jeff, I was there on his stream and he struggles so much to understand what was happening. And honestly me too! Despite the fact that I know and use Azure Function regularly I completely missed the missing instruction... The good news is since the documentation is open-source we can improve it...

Programming

• A quick overview of ASP.NET Core with Rider (Rachel Appel) - I never used Rider in a real project. However, the quality of this code IDE is not in question. It looks awesome and this post shows how it supports the latest version of .Net Core.
• An Introduction to Blazor and Web Assembly (Jeremy Likness) - The perfect post to get started with Blazor and also learn where it comes from.
• Visual Studio Extensions: 8 You Should Check Out (Carlos Schults) - A nice post that shares useful extensions for developers. I also like the fact that in the title it's 8 and in the url it's 7 LOL...

Miscellaneous

• How Serverless is Working in Azure SQL Database – SQLServerCentral (Steve Jones) - Interesting post where the author shares his experience with serverless database version.

Books

The Art of Thinking Clearly

I'm still balanced about this book. It was a good book, even if I found some chapters that were too long. I also got lost by moments. I had the impression that some thoughts or ideas were not developed correctly and more quickly wrapped. In counterpart, some were very well served and clear.
