• ASP.NET Core Apps Observability (Francisco) - A great post that shares, and explains how to implement logs, traces, and metrics in modern application.

• Azure Cost Management + Billing updates – February 2020 (Michael Flanakin) - Wow, an incredible update on all front. New features, new PowerBi app, new APIs, and so much more.

• Durable Functions Upgrade Strategies (Mark Heath) - A real gold mine of information about best practices when migrating. Of course great when migrating durable functions, but also true for any services.

Programming

• How to set up a tab profile in Windows Terminal to automatically SSH into a Linux box - Scott Hanselman (Scott Hanselman) - If you've been hacking or just copy-pasting config without understanding to mutch, this post will explain how to do you own version.

• Announcing PowerShell 7.0 (Joey) - That awesome post will explain what's in PowerShell 7 and why we should care... Because yes... we should.

• Docker Desktop for Windows Home is here! - Docker Blog (Ben De St Paer-Gotch) - Fantastic news! And so easy to install. Lovely.

• How to merge a pull request 🔥🔥🔥 (Steve Belovarich) - Interesting post that shares some best practices when merging.

Podcast

• Starting a profitable business in six weeks with Courtland Allen (Software Engineering Unlocked) - A really interesting discussion about success in tech. All the work that it required, but also the timing, and the people you keep around you in the journey.

• #28: Frank Boucher - Live Stream Coding (The Solo Coder Podcast) - Shameless plug... But a good episode nevertheless.

• #361: The Generosity of Scars with Scott Mann (The EntreLeadership Podcast) - First when I eared the guess was a military I thought it will be full of war references... But no! This episode is all about human. Our self, are we feel alone and strangely the fact that we are not. Great episode and I really liked Scott Mann verbs.

• How to Start and Grow A Podcast That Gets Listeners - Twitch Advice (Stream Coach: Twitch Stream Tips) - I like how Ashley treats her topics. She does it in a different way. In my journey to learn about how to provide great streaming content, this episode was a nice complement.

Book

The Infinite Game 

by: Simon Sinek

 I really enjoyed this book. This book gave me vocabulary. It was putting words on ideas, explaining clearly some feelings that I wasn't able to express. Like when you know something is good or bad, but that you can explain why. It's less impressive than Start with Why, but definitely, something to read.

• Creating a RESTful Serverless API with Azure Functions and MongoDB (Will Velida) - This is a great tutorial that uses Azure function mongo and c# to build a project from scratch. It is simple enough to make sense and be easy to understand.

• Running Containers in Azure with Rancher (Tom Callway) - This post introduces Rancher, a tool thatt looks really interesting.

• Step-by-Step: Finding and Analyzing Microsoft Azure Cloud Usage Costs (Sonia Cuff ) - Great post that provides a few tips to better see or highlight some cost sending in Azure.

Programming

• Build your own Azure CLI Extensions (Michael Crump) - A very cool tutorial that explains how to do our own extension.

• How to set up Docker within Windows System for Linux (WSL2) on Windows 10 (Scott Hanselman) - Nice update; tons of info about wsl, docker, ssh and more.

• Pulling your DEV.TO Stats into a Google Sheet (Jeremy Morgan) - That's a cool little project, and I'm pretty sure it can be used by a lot of authors...on devto.

• Using Cognitive Services: Custom Vision Service with Azure IoT Edge - Cloud | Mobile | Edge (Jared Rhodes) - A nice tutorial that shows how to use Python and vscode to create an awesome app.

• What's New in Visual Studio Online | Visual Studio Blog (Allison Buchholtz-Au) - Wow, a turbo mode! But this time(remember the turbo on our old 486 beige pc), it makes totally sens...

Miscellaneous

• What are Azure CLI Extensions? (Michael Crump) - An interesting first article of a series. This one introduces us to the extension... Hmmm. I think I have an idea.

• Comparing Serverless and Containers: Which is Best? (Aditya Joshi) - Oh, lots of interesting thoughts on a very trending question...

• Migrating your applications to Azure using Virtual Machine Scale Sets, Packer and Virtual Machine extensions – Part 3 (Dominique St-Amand) - This is the third post in a series and very details tutorial that explains why and how to do your scaleset settings.

Programming

• Blazor by Example - A dismissable banner (Jon Hilton) - A really interesting post that explains how to build a webpage by showing it by iterations. If you know me, you know those are my favorite.

• Command line tricks for managing your messy open source repository (Victoria Drake) - Nice post that shares a few tips of all kind, in a loose style... Which ones did you not know, or think about?

• Dungeons & Dragons Max Hit Points Calculator (Rachel Soderberg) - A nice and different little project to learn some c# in a Windows form environment.

Podcasts

• 0240 - Anthony Giretti - Le protocole gRPC (Visual Studio Talk Show) - Nice episode where they talk about gRPC and gRPC web, where it comes from, why it's different than the previous version, and how it's possible to use it with .Net. All that in French!

• Habits Of Top Programmers (NgNinja) - A little spark of motivation just for you.

• Calling an Azure Signalr Instance from an Azure function (pcmichaels) - This is a nice tutorial to show how to connect different services together.
• Updating to Azure Functions v3 in Visual Studio (Brandon Minnick) - Nice quick post that shows how easy it is to start using the new version.
• Using Azure Functions Durable HTTP APIs (Mark Heath) - This post explains well how to use this new feature in the durable functions.

Programming

• Announcing .NET Interactive - Try .NET includes .NET Notebooks and more (Scott Hanselman) - This .Net interactive is really interesting.
• GitHub Enterprise is now free through Microsoft for Startups (Kelly Stirman) - This is fantastic news and a great opportunity for startups. If you are a startup, check out this program!
• It's time for you to install Windows Terminal (Scott Hanselman) - Definitely an incredible tool this Windows Terminal. Try it you will see. And the thing I like is it never stops to amaze me with new features.
• Manage secrets and more with the GitHub Actions API (Chris Patterson) - New API, new possibility with the runner... This is really interesting... I need to try that.
• Reading RSS Feeds With .NET Core (Nong Vang) - I don't know why I always thought it was complicated to parse an RSS feed. A very nice quick tutorial.
• VS Code Integration with GitHub and Azure (Robert Green, Aaron Powell) - A fantastic 10 minutes video that shows the most frequent scenarios of developers using GitHub and how easy it is with VSCode.

Miscellaneous

• Surviving as a remote tech employee with Jayson J. Phillips | Hanselminutes - Fresh Talk and Tech for Developers (Scott Hanselman, Jayson J. Phillips) - As a full-time remote worker for the past 6-7 years, I can easily identify myself in this podcast episode. And you gave me some ideas that I didn't think about... Awesome!
• Your Todo application is too complex or not complex enough (Scott Hanselman) - Learning by reading code is great, but we need some sources. Well in this post you will find a GitHub repo that is a gold mine.

• Creating Azure Functions with Function Monkey–First Look (Jason Roberts) - A nice quick tutorial that explains how to create a function with Monkey.

• Creating subdomains to Azure DNS from ASP.NET Core (Gunnar Peipman) - A pretty cool tutorial that shows how to do the DNS config by code.

• How serverless beats servers - A geek with a hat (Swizec Teller) - Very nice post that demonstrates how a serverless pair with static websites are great.

• How to Restrict Network Access to Azure Key Vault Using Firewalls & vNets (Mike Racine) - Excellent post and video.Very clear and it helps to understand how Keyvault is good for us.

Programming

• Hosting your own NuGet Server and Feed for build artifacts with BaGet (Scott Hanselman) - Woooo. I didn't know so many options were available. Once more great post that opens to so many scenarios.

• Visual Studio Code January 2020 (VSCode Team) - How this team manages to pack so many goodies in every new version is a mystery. Wonderful.

Podcasts

• Influencer Marketing EXPLAINED (by an influencer) (That Creative Life) - What a great episode! She can't barely contain herself... that's how Sara is passionate and honest! I love the show, great episode!

• Colin O'Brady - First to Ever Cross Antarctica COMPLETELY Unassisted (That Creative Life) - I have been waiting for someone to write a book like that forever! Thank you to let me discover Colin O'Brady. I already order the book... looking forward to reading it. Life IS the ultimate adventure, a mandatory listening for all of us!

• #25: Shayne Boyer - Social Coder (The Solo Coder Podcast) - Once again a very nice episode. It was wonderful to discover my colleague to this interview. Well done.

• Making Gatsby easy to understand with Laurie Barth (Software Engineering Unlocked) - That how you do an interview! Great conversation, Lauria is fantastic. I didn't know her but now I'm following, and waiting for the next "question".

Miscellaneous

• The Benefits of a Developer Community: Motivation (schwammy) - It has never been much easier to be part of a community. However, the first step still requires us to say hi! Don't Stay alone.

• Azure CLI Kung-Fu Tips and Tricks (Dan Patrick) - A true story for a real warrior... This post explains how a well done Azure CLI script can save you in hard conditions.

• How to Reduce the Costs of your Azure IaaS VMs (Thomas Maurer) - Amazing post that will help us to migrate and/or optimize our virtual machine usage in the cloud.

Programming

• Blazor WebAssembly 3.2.0 Preview 1 release now available (Daniel Roth) - Oooooh, it's coming. New version and big update for the .Net Core WebAssembly. Have fun!

• Getting Started with Visual Studio Online – Cloud IDE (Chris Pietschmann) - Announced in May it's already there and so nice to be able to work with VSOnline that is ( this time ;) f a real Visual Studio but in the cloud.

• Trying out Container Tools in Visual Studio 2019 (Scott Hanseleman) - An interesting post that shows us all the great features packed into the new update of the container tool inside VsStudio 2019. So powerful.

Podcast

• Done playing Microsoft's corporate game (Software Engineering Unlocked) - Great episode with the lovely Suz (aka: noopkat) talking about her roles and experience to different enterprises.

• John Sonmez - Becoming a Finisher, Part 2 (The Solo Coder Podcast) - Second part of the interview with the very prolific John. Once more the episode is very interesting.

• Hide Your Secrets in VS Code with Cloak (John Papa) - What a fantastic extension! Areally think it will become a must for anyone doing presentations...

• User Registration with ASP.NET Core Identity - Code Maze (Marinko Spasojevic) - A nice tutorial that explains how to build from scratch our own login (registration).

• Using ASP.NET Core 3.0 Identity With MySQL (S.Ravi Kumar) - A simple tutorial that provides a step by step explanation to configure or MySql

Podcast

• Myself: It's not weird at all (Hanselminutes - Fresh Talk and Tech for Developers) - I nice episode much longer than the usual, but the guest is also special... It's Scott. During a Live Stream on Twitch it the Live Coders... People suggest making a podcast episode of the interview... I couldn't agree more.

• The Power of Humor in Tech with Chloe Condon (Screaming in the Cloud) - Very refreshing episode with the awesome and very colorful Chloe. Nice show that goes to fast. Very interesting discussion about the non-traditional way to technical work, and its success.

• Gather Your Community or Get Left Behind—Mighty Networks and More (The Smart Passive Income Online Business ) - Nice episode that talks about what comes after blogging... The alternative to Facebook community and different opportunities to answer our graving of community and feeling of appurtenance.

• Azure Cloud Shell + zsh, oh-my-zsh, tmux, and badass terminal! (Jessica Deen) - Cool walkthrough that explains all to get a nice looking cloud shell.

• Updating the my blog from AppService to Containers...finally (Shayne Boyer) - Awesome walkthrough. As an ex-user of Ghost on Azure I understand the trouble. Containers and a database as service are perfect for this situation.

Programming

• CLI vs GitKraken Git GUI Speed Test (Jesus Murillo) - I love GitKraken, I still use the CLI and the integrated git in VSCode, but to really see things... It's the best, and wow it looks cool.

• ASP.Net Core 3 – Dependency Injection (Michał Białecki) - A nice tutorial that explains an important concept, and shows how to implement it.

• Create fake user for ASP.NET Core integration tests (Gunnar Peipman) - An awesome tutorial that explains how to build a very useful utility...a fake user.

• Yori - The quiet little CMD replacement that you need to install NOW (Scott Hanselman) - I love it. I didn't even finish reading this post and one thing bringing another I was streaming live installing and playing with Yori.

Podcasts

• Episode 49 - Blazor, .Net Core 3.1 and spelling reforms with Daniel Roth (Coding After Work Podcast) - Great episode with the very energetic Daniel. A ton of information and thank you for all the URLs in the notes.

• SPI 404: The 5 Dysfunctions of a Team with Patrick Lencioni (The Smart Passive Income) - I read The Five Dysfunctions of a Team a few years ago and loved it. It was really interesting to listen to the author talking sharing all that wisdom. A must! (book and episode).

• Entity Framework Core 3 with Julie Lerman (.NET Rocks!) - What a great episode with Entity framework goddess in person. As I'm planning to use EF in a new project, this refresh was awesome!

• #23: John Sonmez - Becoming a Finisher, Part 1 (The Solo Coder Podcast) - I know, read and follow Simpler Programmer. It was so great to heard all the work that was put in to arrive to the current status. So many of us think it's a night success... Looking forward to listening to part 2.

• 8 reasons why we should all walk more (BBC Radio) - Interesting post that shares the benefits of a nice walmk.

• How to Create Great Tech Demos and Presentations (Thomas Maurer) - Awesome list of tips to give the best presentation possible.

• Future Ready Blazor Application Architecture (S.Ravi Kumar) - Great tutorial that explains how to build our own component and start to reuse code.

• How to Add Infinite Scrolling to Your React App (John Au-Yeung) - Nice react tutorial for an optimized webpage.

• Solving Sudoku with backtracking : Algorithms for the masses (Julian M Bucknall) - Interesting post to read about code patterns applied to something we all know... Sudoku.

Miscellaneous

• Mastering the all-remote environment: My top 5 challenges and solutions - A great post. That really list the challenges you can encounter as a remote worker with there solutions, or suggestions to ease them.
