• Publishing an ASP.NET Core App to Azure App Service Using Visual Studio (Code Maze) - A nice tutorial very easy to follow that explains how to create and deploy your first web app to Azure using .Net.

Programming

• Cross-platform diagnostic tools for .NET Core (Scott Hanselman) - Interesting sets of dotnet commands.

• .NET Conf 2020 and Community Events this October | Xamarin Blog (microsoft.com) - Nice event coming up mid-November...

• 6 Tools I use for Web Development (Jakob Klamser) - A nice list of great tools. I'm surprised to read that notion would be more flexible then OneNote, I heard a lot of good from it but never tried it.

• Bringing the browser developer tools to Visual Studio Code (Microsoft Edge Team) - Cool...I need to try that.

• Render diagrams on the fly in your Blazor apps (Jon Hilton) - A cool and simple way to add graphics inside your App, wonderful!

• WebAssembly Could Be the Key for Cloud Native Extensibility (Joab Jackson) - Oh, interesting topics, I need to check that podcast.

• Using Azure DevOps for Product Development (Multiple Teams) (Subodh Sohoni ) - Really interesting post. We use Azure DevOps in my team and we're thinking about doing a cross-team thing...

• SPI 440: How to Create Bingeworthy Content with Tracy Hazzard (The Smart Passive Income Online Business and Blogging Podcast) - A very interesting topic. WHen it's useful how could you make your content more digestible.
• A new way to learn about technology with Disco's Saron Yitbarek (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - In this podcast you learn so many things... It go sideways a little an It's even better.
• Microsoft & the Next Level of Transformation with Corey Sanders (Screaming in the Cloud) - What's new why it's interesting, why should we care, and so much more. Nice show.
• Morning Brew - Newsletters ARE NOT Dead! (That Creative Life) - A great conversation between to young and really smart creator. It's interesting to confirm you are not alone asking yourself those questions.
• Are YouTube Keyword Research Tools Worth It? (Your Thriving Side Hustle) - Do you spend time entering all that metadata? Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one doing it, and the second haft of the time I'm sure I'm doing it wrong. Nice episode.
• Cloud & DevOps with Bart Castle (CloudSkills.fm) - I love those stories how someone became who they are. THe path to picked, the choices they made with the reason why.
• Special Episode 25: From art school to Microsoft Research (Software Engineering Unlocked) - Wonderful, I knew her study. carreer path couldn't be strait. Like I mentioned many times the best stories are the one with "detours". Love it, looking forward for the next episode.

Miscellaneous

• You're Not a Fake Programmer, That's Just Impostor Syndrome (Daniel Chae) - Its definitely real, and there is a way to be more comfortable with it. This post will share a few of those tips.

• Introducing the new Azure Tables Client Libraries | Azure SDK Blog (Christopher Scott) - Storage is everywhere, this post is an excellent starting point to benefits of how the new SDKs can help us.

• Project Bicep Sneak Peek (Justin Yoo) - Very interesting new project from the ARM team. I really need to try it.

• Dependency Injection with Azure Functions (Joseph Guadagno) - Interesting code perspective on the AzFunctions.

• Azure Container Instances - Docker integration now in Docker Desktop stable release (MacKenzie Olson) - Learn more about this really useful integration in this post.

• Creating a Progressive Web App with Blazor WebAssembly -- Visual Studio Magazine (Peter Vogel) - A really cool idea, not perfect but pretty fun.

• Introduction à Bicep (Lucas de Carli) - A nice FRENCH post that gives us an introduction of Bicep and where it comes from.

• Making Scott Hanselman's Powerpoint Greenscreen trick work with RevealJS via Blazor Server (Jon Hilton) - Really cool post that shows the magic of another presentation tool.

• Starting to Use Git Hooks With a Team - Redgate Software (Grant Fritchey) - Interesting uses of the hook.nice.

• The First Blazor Dock Manager (Brian Lagunas) - Nice demo/ tutorial of the new dock manager with Blazor.The pretty cool component in this suite.

• VSCode Tips for Power Users (Boris Yordanov) - Because there is always something new that we can learn about this amazing tool.

• Auto-installing Applications on Azure VM with Chocolatey for Live Streaming (Justin Yoo) - A nice quick tutorial that lists all the pieces to build you're ready to use VM like a streaming machine.

• Creating an .NET AWS serverless application using API Gateway with API Key (Dror Helper) - A nice tutorial that explains how to get started.

• Introduction to Cloud Computing and Azure (Code Maze) - A good article to get started. Starting from nothing and explaining the basic concepts.

Programming

• How to Add TypeScript to a JavaScript Project (Dor Sever) - Great post that shares a lot of information to get started with TypeScript, even how to sell it to your team.

• ASP.NET Core updates in .NET 5 Preview 8 (Daniel Roth) - Nice update packed with tons of features.

• Blazor WebAssembly Gets Lazy Loading -- Visual Studio Magazine (David Ramel) - Nice post that focuses on one of the features (lazy loading of the dependencies) of the last update.

Miscellaneous

• I'm Open Sourcing the Have I Been Pwned Code Base (Troy Hunt) - Interesting news about this project. Going open source is a big move, and Troy explains why he did it.

Podcast

• How to Create a Social Media Plan Template with Andrea Jones (Influencer Entrepreneurs with Jenny Melrose) - They say planning is everything, so I was happy to listen to this episode and learn more it and see if it was different depending on the platform.

• Cycling Through Changes with Laura King (Wild Ideas Worth Living) - I'm a man and my "baby" is an adult now. Yet, I found that episode very interesting. Even though a lot of friends shared with me a few "challenges" that pregnancy brings... And didn't think about the training ones...

Book

Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less 

Author: Greg McKeown 

- I really like this book. In a world where we all try to get more things done to be more productive, this book talks about doing less... to be more productive. Very interesting I thought. Talking about priorities, and how to help you to find our focus.

• Azure portal August 2020 update (Angie Doyle) - Wonderful Updates better search, better productivity.Very nice.

• Path based routing in Azure Application Gateway with Azure WebApps (Dominique St-Amand) - Great post that explains how to get the most of our domain name and workaround a little limitation of the portal.

Programming

• How to Develop an ASP.NET Core Application Using Visual Studio Code (Mathankumar Rajendran) - The perfect post to get started without impacting too much (installing heavy software) your computer.

• Configuring Codespaces for .NET Core Development (Justin Yoo ) - This post goes deeper than the usual hello word type of post about Codespace. It really shows an example of configuration.

• Have you built your GitHub Profile README yet? (Mayank Choudhary) - What?! This is super cool, and I didn't know about it.

• How to Work With Client-Side Blazor (Jon Hilton ) - This is a great simple post to get started with Blazor web assembly. Simple enough so all can understand what it is and what's nice about it.

• Introducing Blazor Automatic Kingdom (null) - Interesting of the popular blocky UI/UX with Blazor.

• Introduction to SVELTE (Sohaib Nehal) - As I rediscover JavaScript, it's fascinating to see how much this language as evolve and now have so many great frameworks.

• WSL 2 Support is coming to Windows 10 Versions 1903 and 1909 | Windows Command Line (Tyler) - Yeah! One of my computers is not in the insider program and was still with WSL1... But not anymore.

Podcasts

• 087: Learning Azure with Gwyneth Pena (CloudSkills.fm) - In this episode, you will discover a freshly awarded MVP, a brilliant content creator, and super energetic women. Wonderful.

• Why you should double down on intergration testing with Kent C. Dodds (Software Engineering Unlocked) - Tests are important we all know that (well we should), but there is a shift about the type of tests that are the best one recently... Interesting.

• Working in Public: Open Source Software with Nadia Eghbal (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - A very interesting conversation about the open-source work today. She is the author of the book Working in Public, which looks fascinating.

• #169 – Thinking One Step Ahead to Grow Your Business through PR with Dmitry Dragilev of JustReachOut.io (The Indie Hackers Podcast) - I think this quote used summarize perfectly: Just because you built it doesn't mean people will come. Great discussion.

• The Shorts -- Twindom (The Dirtbag Diaries) - A really touching story of two sisters and a hiking trip that changed her lives.

• Free eBook: Developer’s Guide to Azure: 2020 Edition (Chris Pietschmann) - Awesome Free book. It looks very nice.

• Azure SDK: Packaging, tools, and repository structure | Azure SDKs (Mitch Denny) - A very interesting post, it's important to find the best way and for that, we need to start by asking the good questions.

• Integration Testing ASP.NET Core Applications: Best Practices (Steve Gordon) - This summary chapter gives us a really good preview of this very interesting Pluralsight course.

• Introducing C# 9: Extending Partial Methods (Anthony Giretti) - It's been a while since a used them, but it nice to see it will be much easier...because I remember how it was.

• The DevOps Journey (Chris Ayers) - Interesting post about DevOps in our reality.

Podcasts

• TikTok, Reels, and Shorts (UGH! Not another algorithm to learn?!) (Your Thriving Side Hustle) - When I saw the title I was TikTok? Not for me... I'm still not convinced, but now it's definitely not that clear. Could some serious things work in that format?
• SPI 435: 7 Terrible Traps Entrepreneurs Fall Into (And How to Get Out of Them) (The Smart Passive Income Online Business and Blogging Podcast) - Interesting real-life stories. We ear more often about success, but things don't go always well.
• Cybersecurity for Executives in the Age of Cloud with Teri Radichel (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - A interesting conversation about security. Who's accountable? What does it mean?
• #385: Rediscovering the Joy of Work with Bruce Daisley (The EntreLeadership Podcast) - I'm lucky because I really like what I do for a living. You could too. An interesting episode about emotion, joy, and work.
• Linus Tech Tips Returns for Episode 100! (That Creative Life) - I was really happy when I saw that Linus was back on the show. I really like to dynamic between those two, it feels honest and true.

How to Talk to Anyone: 92 Little Tricks for Big Success in Relationships 

Author: Leil Lowndes

I was interested to read this book to get some inspiration when it's time to talk to people in an event. But this book brought me way more then that. I really appreciated the clear example and the variety. After reading this book you won't be a master, but you now have options to start a conversation.

• Tip 272 - Azure Security Best Practices | Azure Tips and Tricks (Michael Crump) - Seven great methods to keep our solution secure in Azure.

Programming

• 5 Ways Artifactory NuGet Repositories Boost .NET Development (Rami Honig) - This post introduces an end to end DevOps solution to manage packages dependencies. It looks very interesting.

• Exploring the .NET open source hybrid ORM library RepoDB (Scott Hanselman) - A great open-source solution... I need to give it a try, maybe with my Use-R-vote project...

• Highlights from Git 2.28 (Taylor Blau) - Nice update. I'm personally very please with the default name of our choice.

• Introducing GitHub's OpenAPI Description (Marc-Andre Giroux) - An interesting project.

• New Developer Landing Page and Issues Repo - Windows Developer Blog (Rich Turner) - Nice now we have a customized entry door to the knowledge word.

• Official Support for Remote Debugging a .NET Core Linux app in WSL2 from Visual Studio on Windows (Scott Hanselman) - Wsl2 is an incredible tool. There only one of my machines that don't have it yet because it running on public Windows release... But I should have it soon everywhere and it will be so great!

• Pimp up your Blazor EditForms with Tailwind CSS! (Tarik Alkathiri) - Nice tutorial.

• When does it make sense to use containers in a development workflow? (Sean Killeen) - Nice post that shares a very good answer.

Podcasts

• 211: Failure To Launch (Merge Conflict) - Interesting conversation about when it's time to stop adding features and deploy. Finding a comfortable point could be difficult sometime.

• 482: How to Sell Your Vision, with Michael Hyatt (Coaching for Leaders) - nice episode that shares a few points to guide us when it's time to build/ present our vision.

• #167 – The Most Sensible Debate on Hustle Culture and Work-Life Balance with Natalie Nagele and DHH (The Indie Hackers Podcast) - A very interesting discussion about the "entrepreneur" mentality. Are there too many differences between the guess (cultural)? It's definitely good to ear all their points... But be aware that's mostly a two-hour long episode.

• The Open Source Ecosystem, .NET Foundation, and Microsoft with Sebastien Lambla (.NET Rocks!) - A fantastic episode. A hot topic very strong opinion but done in with class!

• Managing remotely with Asana Engineering Manager Kate Reading (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - Interesting conversation. It's not a not topic, but they're a lot of unprepared managers that were forced into this situation.

Miscellaneous

• New Windows Virtual Desktop capabilities now generally available | Azure blog and updates | Microsoft Azure (Kam VedBrat) - Wow, that very nice news.

• Simplified YouTube live streaming with Azure and OBS Studio. ( Ihor Leontiev) - With more and more people doing conferences or streaming online this alternative could simplify a lot of technical issues.

• Learn Durable Functions with .NET Core and C#, stateful Serverless (Chris Noring) - A fascinating tutorial that teaches us how to get started with Azure Durable Functions and also explains how they work.

• Azure Functions and App Service Authentication with Auth0 and other OpenID Connect providers (Anthony Chu) - A nice post that explains how to configure our function with the CLI.

• Using Key Vault and Managed Identities with Azure Functions (Damien Bod) - A very resourceful and tutorial post. The perfect place to get started.

Programming

• Bootstrap 5 alpha1 is here..! What is NEW? (Charuka herath) - Nice update.

• Securing Blazor WebAssembly Apps (Andrea Chiarelli) - A nice post with all the code.

• Windows Terminal Preview 1.2 Release (Kayla) - Very nice update of an open-source project...It's nice to see that.

• Stop Pushing Down Your Emotions (Developer Tea) - I think a lot of people are doing that, me included. Very interesting podcast about a real situation.

• How the OBS Project changed video forever with lead Hugh Bailey (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - I was trilled to listen to this podcast. I'm a regular user of OBS and it was wonderful to learn more about this project. I will definitely be lurking on the GitHub side...

• 480: Get Noticed Without Selling Out, with Laura Huang (Coaching for Leaders) - Interesting discussion. I never realize how “Be yourself” wasn't really useful...

• Episode 219: Remote crickets and Manager Careering (Soft Skills Engineering) - A really nice episode. Great topics answering diverse questions. One that kept my attention was about the magic manager and the time management...

• How to Improve Time Management with Angela Proffitt (Influencer Entrepreneurs with Jenny Melrose) - A few great tips to improve our efficiency at managing time. It's always good to have new ideas and ear how others are doing.

• #49: Erin Doyle - Beautiful Code and Accessibility (The Solo Coder Podcast) - A beautiful, very inspiring episode about how to make the world a better place for all.

• Azure DevOps Roadmap update for 2020 Q3 | Azure DevOps Blog (Sidi) - That looks pretty neat

• How to make separate Work and Personal Profiles with the New Microsoft Edge on Beyonce's Internet (Scott Hanselman) - The profiles are really awesome and very useful. I'd say it's a must.

• Microsoft is working on an Azure-powered Cloud PC service ( Mary Jo Foley) - Interesting..

• Sort Data With ASP.NET Core and Query Strings (Khalid Abuhakmeh) - A very cool tutorial with all thee e required code. Pretty cool.

• Top 7 OBS Studio Tricks for 2020 – and you won’t believe #4 (Jeff Fritz) - A wonderful list of accessible tips to improve our stream.

• Introducing Azure CLI v2.9 with improved performance and user experience (Lomis Chen) - Awesome news more performance and quiet mode.

Programming

• How to Serve Static Files (CSS, JS, Images) in Express JS? (Digamber Rawat) - I just recently start using Express.js and it's been a joy. A very well done package. This post explains a way to structure your server for static content.
• New experimental Razor editor for Visual Studio | ASP.NET Blog (Daniel Roth) - That looks interesting... I will definitely give it a try.
• Read Configuration values in ASP.NET Core - A great little tutorial that shows a way to have different config files by environments.
• Splitting the Windows Terminal into multiple panes (Guy Barette) - Short and sweet. Quick tip about tmux.

Podcast

• Spider Web Effect on YouTube – Should you implement it now? (Your Thriving Side Hustle) - It's the second time I here Meredith talking about the "spider web effect", and I think it's a nice and honest strategy.
• Austin Evans - Tech YouTuber Starts a New Channel After 11 Years & 4.5 Million Subscribers (That Creative Life) - Just an awesome discussion between to YouTube/ content creator. How they grow and worked over the years.
• SPI 431: Is Writing Still a Viable Content Platform? Medium, Copywriting Tips, and More, with Dr. Benjamin Hardy (Smart Passive Income Podcast with Pat Flynn) - A very interesting episode talking about the written content. Is it still popular today, and a few simple strategies to help getting started.
• The DevOps Handbook - The Technical Practices of Flow (Coding Blocks) - A very long but funny and interesting episode about DevOps. They will review The DevOps Handbook, sharing some experiences, and explaining why they like dislike agree or disagree.

How to Manage Azure Resources

What ever you are on running on Linux, Mac or Windows that you are on the road or in the comfort of your office there is many different ways to manage your Azure resources. In this video I will show you five ways to do it and explain the pros and cons of each:

5. Azure Cloud Shell

There is also an excellent Microsoft Learn module that will teach you how to use the Azure portal efficiently.

• Always Use the for…of loop to iterate in JavaScript (Dhananjay Kumar) - I thought I knew how to loop in JavaScript, apparently, I didn't.
• Exciting new updates to the Git experience in Visual Studio | Visual Studio Blog (Pratik) - Wow, that nice update. Good tools are important when moving and merging code... We don't want to make mistakes.
• Getting Started With Kubernetes: Application Basics (Sophia Parafina) - A nice second post in a series on kubernetes. Learning layer by layer.awesome.
• How to Create and Delete Branches in Visual Studio Code (Jason N. Gaylord) - Nice quick tips. I didn't know how to delete it.

• Best Markdown Editor (Jimmy McBride) - Nice cool project. As a markdown user, I will definitely have a look.
• How we launched docs.github.com (Sarah Schneider) - Wow, a very interesting story, and all that in one year.Impressive.

• How to incrementally update KeyVault access policies with ARM templates (Stephane Lapointe) - A nice ARM template sample to save our time.

• Digital Security for Humans with Jessy Irwin (Screaming in the Cloud) - Security is so important and this podcast will present this topic in a different and interesting way.
• 476: How to Pivot Quickly, with Steve Blank (Coaching for Leaders) - With 2020, comes a new erra of businesses... True or dare?!
• All Things Azure with Dwayne Monroe (Screaming in the Cloud) - People asked me those questions very often: Why Azure? How did you start? Dwayne's answer is excellent... Great podcast honest and true.

• 15 Statistics You Should Know About A Career In UX Design (Ben Aston) - Interesting post that does the tour of the UX job. I wished I had that kind of information on all types of jobs back in the day. If you are considering UX its a must.
• 3 Ways to Customize Your Windows Terminal - Windows Developer Blog (Windows Developer Team) - What!? You are not using the new terminal already... simple, clean, efficient, and easy.
• Windows Terminal Preview 1.1 Release | Windows Command Line (Kayla) - Nice few updates coming our way.

• Learning and relearning Docker commands (Mark Downie) - A nice short post that lists common commands.
• Run Azure Container Instances from the Docker CLI (Thomas Maurer) - Wow, that kind of crazy cool! Pulling and a container instant directly from the native CLI...I love it.
• Using the Blockly visual programming editor to call a .NET Core WebAPI (Scott Hanselman) - Really cool open source project on GitHub.

• 205: Monetization (Merge Conflict) - Nice discussion about the ads in an APP, why we want them why we don't...
• #44: Jen Looper - Women in Tech and Developer Evangelism (The Solo Coder Podcast) - Another great episode of Solo Coder. This time I new the guest, but nevertheless I learn something.
• How to Think Like a Boss with Kate Crocco (Influencer Entrepreneurs with Jenny Melrose) - Creating, building feeling good in a business while being a parent is hard.
• .NET Multi-Platform App UI with Scott Hunter (.NET Rocks!) - Great episode that summarize, tease, and share about everything dotnet.
• 081: Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer (AZ-400) (CloudSkills.fm) - After the revamping of the exams, it was very interesting to ear about Az400. I like DevOps, so that an exam on that path.
• Inside Doist - The Bootstrapped Market Leader (Software Engineering Unlocked) - A very interesting discussion with a an great creator.

I took me about one year to read that book. Way longer then it should. It was a good book and it is really easy to read. Maybe it's the fact that it was a "real" book and not in my kindle? But I think it was the format. This book look like a comic book with a director cut. There those little story bubbles and there is the text. The content is amazing, but I felt like I was always losing the vibe while transitioning to the text, or the bubbles. 

However, the book is really great

• Getting Value from appsettings.json in .NET Core (Jeetendra Gund ) - Nice little quick tutorial the read values in an MVC structured app.

• Building a notifications client with Xamarin and Azure (Laurent Bugnion) - A very nice post that describe how Laurent started to build his cross platforms tools. Sharing the gotchas and a few tips along this first post of the series.

• Which Database should I use in my Azure Serverless App? (Mark Heath) - Nice overview of the type of data storage in Azure.

Miscellaneous

• 7 principles for modern tech leaders (William Peachey) - Nice post about the evolution of roles in our field of expertise and what could/ should be a a leader roles.

• Do I need to code in my free time to be a good developer? (Maxim Chechenev) - Interesting point of view about a trend. I personally think the answer is not yes or no... But its depends or it required more details.

• Easily rename your Git default branch from master to main (Scott Hanselman) - So simple why not doing it!?

• How To Detect Unsupported Browsers Under a Blazor WebAssembly Application? (Wael Kdouh) - Oh I love it. Simple and efficient!

Podcast

• Episode 51 - Extensions, Home automation and Remoulade sauce with Mads Kristensen (Coding After Work Podcast) - And awesome episode with the legend... Creator of so many extensions.

• Testing Blazor Apps with Egil Hansen (.NET Rocks!) - A very interesting episode about a unit testing framework build by the community for Blazor!

• Gerald Undone - MAJOR Gear Talk: Custom PCs, Sony vs Canon and Cinema Cameras (That Creative Life) - Two greate creator met again to talk cameras, laptop, and some much good stuff.

• Red Teaming with Leron Gray (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - A quite interesting episode about playing the bad guys for the good cause. I enjoyed each second of this episode. I new those them existed, but it's great to learn more about them.

• Baking Bread with Eric Wolfinger (Wild Ideas Worth Living) - I've been doing my bread for probably fifteen years, and just recently start messing around with sourdoughs... I'm not crazy.. Making bread is both simple and complex... and of course so fun.

Miscellaneous

• My Windows Terminal Color Schemes (Thomas Maurer) - Cool windows terminal themes.

• The idea that making code open-source won't cost a company anything (Matt Lacey) - Totally agree maintaining a project open source or not required time and effort... Therefore cost money.
