• 5 Developer Workstation Security Best Practices | Docker (Briana Swift) - This is an interesting post that shares guidance to secure our development as early as possible in the development chain.

• How to Compare Two Json Objects Using C# (Code Maze) - Data is the core of most if not all applications and a common way to define the data is JSON. This post helps to understand how to compare a piece of information. Very useful.

• Keys To An Accessibility Mindset — Smashing Magazine (Daniel Yuschick) - Accessibility is important and the POUR Principles make them clearer and easier to consider when developing a new project.

• Upgrading your .NET projects with Visual Studio - .NET Blog (Olia Gavrysh) - That's pretty cool! Often when people (and I'm part of them) need to upgrade their projects they don't know exactly where to start and what exactly changes.

• Taking Comfortable Risks with Scott Galloway (A Bit of Optimism) - One thing he said that will stick with me I think, and that I need to now transform into my words: "There is nothing that will happen to you if you don't take some uncomfortable risks and talk to some people".
• Colin Bowern: Deployments and Ops using Octopus Deploy - Episode 231 (Azure DevOps Podcast) - Never had the chance to play much with Octopus, but it always seems very interesting, now more than ever.
• How to manage through a season of layoffs (Modern Mentor) - A season like those required more effort from everyone. It's hard and we all need to say nice and as much human as possible.

Programming

• Jan. Extensions: Deploy Kubernetes and Run Cloud Apps Locally (Amy Bass) - I like those extension of the month post. It makes you discover little gem that you have not be interested at first.

• 5 .NET MAUI Features for Building Great Desktop Apps (James Montemagno) - Nice top five that shows us one more time how .NET MAUI is a great idea when it's time to create an application UI.

• Announcing .NET Community Toolkit 8.1! Better, faster MVVM source generators, .NET 7 support, and more! (Sergio Pedri) - Great new toolkit with many honestly very cool features.

• Generating Sample Data with Bogus (Shawn Wildermuth) - We all need seed data, test data, temp data... Bogus seams sample and efficient. I'm definitely trying it, in my next project.

• How to Get an Enum Member as a String in C# (Code Maze ) - This post provides a nice overview, with code samples, of three different ways to get the text value of an enum.

• Generating argument expressions for minimal APIs (continued): Behind the scenes of minimal APIs - Part 5 (Andrew Lock) - Another nice post in that series that explains how things works under the hood for Minimal API.

• Azure Functions – 2022 update (Eamon O'Reilly) - So great to have news from the Azure Function team. Of course, I'm pretty happy about v4 isolated and the .NET updates but there is so much more.

• Introducing the Azure Static Website Component (Sean Holung) - This is a nice tutorial that shows how to deploy a static web app using Pulumi.

• How to get ready for Hacktoberfest 2022 (Michelle Mannering ) - Oh boy, we are already mid-October and I just realized that... Did you jump on?

• ASP.NET Core - Why async await is useful (Steven Giesel) - Ah ha! Learn the real reason... A nice quick post that explains it all.

• DevContainers for Azure and .NET (Justin Yoo) - Dev Containers are so great. This post explains how they work, and lists many components to customize them. Here it's about .NET but all languages are supported.

• How to generate header images for blogs and ASP.NET Core (Thomas Ardal) - Nice tools to simply create custom images.

• Securing Containers, First Steps in Docker and Kubernetes (DevOps and Docker Talk) - Because security is an important topic, this episode is worth your time.

• C64 OS - A new operating system for the Commodore 64 with Gregory Naçu (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - A new OS for the old C64? Yes, and it's open source... How cool is that?!

• .NET on Azure Functions Roadmap Update (Matthew Henderson) - The future looks very promising... :) And that also reminded me that I really need to upgrade one of my older functions.

• Journey to the Cloud With ACA (Anthony Chu) - A perfect little tutorial showing how to build a one container App from nothing and end with a complete CICD workflow to deploy it into Azure.

• Bye bye Azure Functions, Hello Azure Container Apps: Introduction (Jonathan George) - Great post about the reason behind a migration from Azure Function to Azure Container App. I really like reading all the questioning, going into the detail, planning the pricing, and the POC, this reflects the real life.

• 9 DevOps Best Practices - What You Should Do and NOT Do (Ioannis Moustakis) - A nice high-level post that shares best practices, perfect to get inspired and start learning more.

Programming

• .NET now on Windows Package Manager (Ashita Nagar) - That's fantastic! I often have multiple versions of the framework installed because I try previews and so. With Winget I will be able to do some cleanup very easily.

• Micro Frontends in Action With ASP.NET Core - Communication Patterns for Blazor WebAssembly Based Web Components (Tomasz Pęczek) - A wonderful post that shares knowledge and code snippets to explain so much. I will need all of that. Love it!

• Test the Fall Insider Preview Build for HoloLens today! (Shona Bang) - Oh, nice! Please share as I'm sure so many would love to try that game asap and be part of that program.

• Continuous Integration Vs. Continuous Delivery: Know the Differences & Draw a Line (Hiren Dhaduk) - This post is very interesting as it describes both parts of the flow, and lists the benefices and challenges.

• Incremental ASP.NET Migration Tooling Preview 2 (Mike Rousos) - The second preview already! Things are looking good...

• Understanding your middleware pipeline in .NET 6 with the Middleware Analysis package (Andrew Lock) - This post introduces a nice package to have better visibility into our code. Nice.

• New Resources to Get Started with .NET MAUI - .NET Blog (Matt Soucoup) - Are you planning to learn something new this summer? I suggest you .NET MAUI, to build an application that can go everywhere. This post shares tons of references to get you started.

• Deploy ASP.NET Core websites to Azure App Service with Azure Pipelines (Mark Heath) - Very interesting tutorial about azure DevOps pipeline.

• Introducing the Azure Static Web Apps CLI (Anthony Chu) - Amazing tools this swa CLI is very interesting and useful.

Programming

• Light and dark mode in just 14 lines of CSS (Salma Alam-Naylor) - Lovely there is no real reason to not do it.

• A New Architecture for APIs (Anant Jhingran) - A very interesting paper that highlights the strengths of GraphQL.

• Add an Admin Tab to Windows Terminal with gsudo (Sam Cogan) - That's a pretty a neet tool!

• Development Container CLI (Brigit Murtaugh) - Oh! This is fantastique, I need to try that, I'm assuming we will be able to give a name to the instance and that it will make reopening a container easier.

• Docker Host network alternatives for Windows containers (Vinicius Apolinario) - Networks are hard, at least for me, and this post shows nice alternatives and explains many things.

• Studio 2022 Extensions with Mads Kristensen (.NET Rocks!) - Whenever I listen Mads Kristensen talking about Visual Studio, my brain goes 🤯 Awesome, awesome episode.

Miscellaneous

• The Azure Cosmos DB Journey to .NET 6 - .NET Blog (Vinod Sridharan) - Learn how Azure Cosmo DB API gateway is low latency and use .Net in many different scenarios to achieve great performance, in this post.

• How To Run PowerShell Scripts (Brien Posey) - A script can be frightening at first, but this nice post will help you to understand them better. Perfect for less technical people.

• Introducing Qodana for Azure Pipelines (Anastasia Khramushina) - Qodana is can analyze your code in CICD on many platforms, and now also in the Azure DevOps.

• Uploading Files with HttpClient in .NET 6 (Calvin) - Nice tutorial to upload a file all the code is there.

• Installing Docker Desktop for Windows and WSL 2 (Andrew Lock) - This post guides ys in the installations of WLS2 with Docker on Windows. It is now kind of simple... But a lot of us are still afraid. We shouldn't, give it a try!

• Your Open Source Project Needs a devcontainer - Here's Why | LINQ to Fail (Aaron Powell) - The dev container tools are pure madness. BUT on the positive side. It is incredibly useful and easy to use. Pair with Codespace its magic. I'm looking forward to seeing the public release.

• How to Docker with .NET: Getting Started (Dave Brock) - A truly beginner tutorial. If you know about Docker but never did really play with it, here is your chance. First post of a trilogy that definitely worth our time.
• Keeping your WSL Linux instances up to date automatically within Windows 10 (Scott Hanselman) - This is sooo simple! Wonderful.
• Let's use NUKE to Quickly Deploy an App to Azure via Zip Deployment - Dangl.Blog(); (Georg Dangl) - Interesting build/ automation framework. Definitely worth giving it a try.

• Learn Node.js with this series of short videos for beginners (Microsoft) - An amazing series of tiny videos. I started myself and already learned so much! Perfect bite-size to watch in a break, or to find THE topic/ answer you are looking for.

• When does it make sense to use containers in a development workflow? (Sean Killeen) - Nice post that shares a very good answer.

• 211: Failure To Launch (Merge Conflict) - Interesting conversation about when it's time to stop adding features and deploy. Finding a comfortable point could be difficult sometime.

• 482: How to Sell Your Vision, with Michael Hyatt (Coaching for Leaders) - nice episode that shares a few points to guide us when it's time to build/ present our vision.

• #167 – The Most Sensible Debate on Hustle Culture and Work-Life Balance with Natalie Nagele and DHH (The Indie Hackers Podcast) - A very interesting discussion about the "entrepreneur" mentality. Are there too many differences between the guess (cultural)? It's definitely good to ear all their points... But be aware that's mostly a two-hour long episode.

• The Open Source Ecosystem, .NET Foundation, and Microsoft with Sebastien Lambla (.NET Rocks!) - A fantastic episode. A hot topic very strong opinion but done in with class!

• Managing remotely with Asana Engineering Manager Kate Reading (Hanselminutes with Scott Hanselman) - Interesting conversation. It's not a not topic, but they're a lot of unprepared managers that were forced into this situation.

• New Windows Virtual Desktop capabilities now generally available | Azure blog and updates | Microsoft Azure (Kam VedBrat) - Wow, that very nice news.

• Simplified YouTube live streaming with Azure and OBS Studio. ( Ihor Leontiev) - With more and more people doing conferences or streaming online this alternative could simplify a lot of technical issues.
