• Azure Mystery Mansion - Microsoft in Business Blogs (Em Lazer-Walker) - Very interesting post. As I'm writing myself a text-based adventure game(just for fun) it's interesting to see the different approaches and tools available.

• Azure DevOps Hidden Gems #8 - Turn Azure Board Queries into Dashboard Chart Items (Graham Smith) - Useful and simple tutorial to build great dashboards in Azure Devops.

Programming

• Updating an ASP.NET Core 2.2 Web Site to .NET Core 3.1 LTS (Scott Hanselman) - Great tutorial that shows us a few things to check when migrating... Because of its time.

Podcasts

• Stream Coach - How hard should you HUSTLE with Sara Dietschy - Twitch Tips and Advice (Ashnichrist) - Two very smart women Sara and Ashnichrist discuss about that "luck"... that is is in fact hard work. An excellent episode, very motivating. Looking forward to your the next episode on both podcasts.

• Azure Cost Management updates – November 2019 | Blog | Microsoft Azure (Michael Flanakin) - This is great news. Finally also available for CSPs learn more about it in this post and there also a link to the Ignite recorded session video.

• Deploying Containerized Azure Functions with Terraform (Jason) - Nice quick tutorial to avoid deploying a "zip file".

• Tip 236 - Deploy your web app in Windows Containers on Azure App Service | Azure Tips and Tricks (Michael Crump) - Great and easy way to get started with containers using Visual Studio

• Using Azure File Storage as Container Volume Mounts in App Services | (Michael Jolley) - A nice piece of information and so useful! Every one needs volumes...

Programming

• ASP.NET Core updates in .NET Core 3.1 (Sourabh Shirhatti) - I'm very excited about this 3.1 version.I'm not sure why maybe it's because it is the long-time support (LTS). Nevertheless, I will update all my projects.

• Working with Linux and Windows Containers simultaneously on Docker Desktop (Mark Heath) - A very and I mean VERY interesting post that proof that it is possible to run containers with mix OS from Win10 without any fancy or preview features.

Miscellaneous

• Use Google Sheets to translate faster (Robin Kretzschmar) - Woo! That's pretty cool. Automatic translation is never the best but this is very convenient.

• 7 Dangers of Micromanagement ( Jack Wallen) - Nice post to help you give the best version of yourself. (Note it's now 6, but it was 7 when I read it)

• Defragmenting your Calendar and your Outlook (Scott Hanselman) - Time management is hard...Timeboxing, Pomodoro, no meeting, short meetings... What's your thoughts?

• Azure Functions with QueueTriggers and .NET Core – Configuration and Troubleshooting (Jeff) - Poor Jeff, I was there on his stream and he struggles so much to understand what was happening. And honestly me too! Despite the fact that I know and use Azure Function regularly I completely missed the missing instruction... The good news is since the documentation is open-source we can improve it...

Programming

• A quick overview of ASP.NET Core with Rider (Rachel Appel) - I never used Rider in a real project. However, the quality of this code IDE is not in question. It looks awesome and this post shows how it supports the latest version of .Net Core.
• An Introduction to Blazor and Web Assembly (Jeremy Likness) - The perfect post to get started with Blazor and also learn where it comes from.
• Visual Studio Extensions: 8 You Should Check Out (Carlos Schults) - A nice post that shares useful extensions for developers. I also like the fact that in the title it's 8 and in the url it's 7 LOL...

Miscellaneous

• How Serverless is Working in Azure SQL Database – SQLServerCentral (Steve Jones) - Interesting post where the author shares his experience with serverless database version.

The Art of Thinking Clearly

I'm still balanced about this book. It was a good book, even if I found some chapters that were too long. I also got lost by moments. I had the impression that some thoughts or ideas were not developed correctly and more quickly wrapped. In counterpart, some were very well served and clear.

• Custom Terminals and User Interface (UI) in Windows Terminal (Jeremy Likness) - Learn how to get and customize your Windows Terminal in this quick post.
• GitHub Actions for Azure is now generally available (Usha Narayanabhatta) - Fantastic news..and perfect timing... At least for me!
• GitHub Learning Path (Premier Developer) - Nice source of info to get started or... Get better.
• What is Blazor? A Tutorial on Building Web Apps with Authentication (Andrea Chiarelli) - Great article that describes in detail how to create a simple blazor app with authentification.

• Easily move WSL distributions between Windows 10 machines with import and export! (Scott Hanselman) - First I was Whaaat!? Very simple yet useful feature no need now do redo all your customization on all your computer...just export and import.

• Improving observability of your Kubernetes deployments with Azure Monitor for containers | Blog | Microsoft Azure (Keiko Harada) - Great post about monitoring within Kubernetes.

Programming

• Cool WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux) tips and tricks you (or I) didn't know were possible (Scott Hanselman) - Tons of awesome tips with WSL.

• ASP.NET Core updates in .NET Core 3.1 Preview 3 (Sourabh) - Preview 3... The final version is coming pretty soon!

• Getting feedback from EntityFramework Core through diagnostics (Dominique St-Amand) - This is a great tutorial that explains how to use the Application Insight SDK with EF.

• Trying out Visual Studio Online - Using the cloud to manage and compile your code is amazing (Scott Hanselman) - VSOnline is so cool! I personally just briefly tried it (busy with Ignite and Ignite The Tour) but it was working great. Looking forward to testing the VSCode extension...

• Azure DevOps Roadmap update for 2019 Q4 (Gloridel Morales) - Since the multi-stage pipeline launch in May, the team as been listening to his community. In this post learn more about what they have been working on and what is their roadmap.

Programming

• Azure DevOps - Docker Release Pipeline (Jeffrey Chilberto ) - A nice and simple tutorial that shows the best practices. Fantastic!

• Code Comments (Donn Felker) - Very smart idea! I'm staring using that rule right away.
• Microservices Fundamentals (Mark Heath) - New course on Pluralsight about an indeed challenging topic. This post shares the plan of that Microservices course.
• Stop Waiting! Start using Async and Await! (Simon Hawe) - Learn the power of async in this excellent post. The example may be in Python the idea is the same however language we are using.

Miscellaneous

• How to Authorize Users in Blazor Declaratively -- Visual Studio Magazine (Peter Vogel) - Great article that explains how authentication could by manage with Blazor.
• What’s in my bag for Microsoft Ignite 2019 (Thomas Maurer) - As I'm packing my own bag, going to Ignite for the first time it's interesting to see what others bring... (Note to myself next time don't leave at home your network cable adapter)

I really like this book, and planning to read it again soon. I like the way things are simply explained. Like if you deconstructed a situation and then re-building it. It felt authentic and true. It's nothing transcending, but the way it is explained is great.

• Setting expectations for open source participation (Brett Cannon) - Excellent post (also available in video) about open source, where based on his experience the author share with us great advice. Thanks, Aaron for that reading suggestion.

• Interactive tabletop RPG table — The MagPi magazine (Rob Zwetsloot. ) - Simple yet sooooo cool! I always wanted to play does games.

• SSL certificates management using Lets Encrypt, Azure Automation and Web Apps (Dominique St-Amand ) - Security, of course. Automatically ... I'm in! This post explains how to automate your renewing process.
• Serverless Deployment Best Practices (Fernando Medina Corey) - A nice post that shows some of the best practices for serverless and how AWS implements them.

Programming

• How partners like GitKraken use GitHub Actions (Marc Campbell) - So cool to see what people are doing with the GitHub Actions.
• How to make ASP.NET Core compile modified views (Gunnar Peipman) - Nice update of Asp.net core... Following the best practices
• How to make a pretty prompt in Windows Terminal with Powerline, Nerd Fonts, Cascadia Code, WSL, and oh-my-posh (Scott Hanselman) - It's great to have a step by step on how to install it. Even if the documentation is well done on Github, it could be confusing to set everything up altogether.
• Why jQuery is Obsolete and Time to Stop Using It (Chris Love) - Great post. I was a big user of jQuery, and these days I do less front end stuff, so it is nice to see how things have evolved and to understand the impact jQuery had.
• Getting Started with Git (Sarah Lean) - Great post that explains the basic functionalities of Git.

• What's the difference between a console, a terminal, and a shell? (Scott Hanselman) - Fantastic post short and clear. It's so simple, yet could still be confusing at the same time. Well, until you read this post.

Programming

• Now is the time to make a fresh new Windows Terminal profiles.json (Scott Hanselman) - I have never been so excited about a terminal. But this one wants to do things right, option and flexibility without being too complex to use and setup.

• Blazor Server in .NET Core 3.0 scenarios and performance (Daniel Ruth) - Great post that explains which version of Blazor could be used in different scenarios and when it better to use something else.

• ASP.NET Core and Blazor updates in .NET Core 3.0 Release Candidate 1 (Daniel Ruth) - Wonderful! The release candidate is already available.

• How to build with Cake on Linux using Cake.CoreCLR or the Cake global tool (Andrew Lock) - Great post playing with .Net Core on the Linux side...does v3.0 will have an impact...

• Run an External Executable in ASP.NET Core (Changhui Xu) - An interesting post, very clear.

• Visual Studio Remotes: Simplifying developer environments (Martin Moxon) - If you didn't try yet the remote feature of VSCode, read this post and give it a try. It's a game-changing feature.

• Building a serverless blog site on Azure (Erik Lieben) - A very cool post that explains how to build a static website generator using serverless. Weel done!

Programming

• GitHub Pull Request Integration with Glo Boards (Jonathan Silva) - Really nice integration and automation with Github PR...Already using and loving it.

• New workflow editor for GitHub Actions (Chris Patterson) - Have you tested the new GitHub action? If yes you will be pleased with this new editor...Ending the research of that missing space somewhere.

• Single Page Applications and ASP.NET Core 3.0 (Shawn Wildermuth) - A very interesting post that explains all the little configurations or twists required to have a great SPA experience with .Net Core.

Miscellaneous

• What You Need for Effective Remote Work (William Gant) - This is a full chapter of an up coming book about remote workers... If you are new to this adventure and even more if you are fulltime remote, this read is a must.

Better than Before: Mastering the Habits of Our Everyday Lives 

Author: Gretchen Rubin 

I really enjoyed this book. I found very interesting the categorization of all those habits and comportment grouping. I like also the habits association to help to break some or creating new ones. It's obvious, but I didn't think about it before.

• ASP.NET Core and Blazor updates in .NET Core 3.0 Preview 9 (Daniel Ruth) - Already Preview 9 with a ton of upgrades. This team is sick! Seriously, awesome work.

• Containerising a Blazor WebAssembly App (Chris Sainty) - Once more Docker is displayed as a very useful development tool.

• Git Graph Visualizes Branches in VS Code for Free (Steve Smith) - There so many great extension for VSCode, the community is amazing.

• Moving from jQuery to Vue (Shawn Wildermuth) - An interesting post that explains Vue and gives references from a jQuery user...like me.

• A quick introduction to Azure function proxies (Nadeem Ahamed) - A nice quick intro... That remind's me I should definitely use proxies in one of my project!
• Using KeyVault References to Read Key Vault Secrets (Scott Allen) - Excellent News!

• Blazor – on the server or on the client (Christian Nagel) - A great post about blazor that explains very well the current status of this very promising tool.
• What Are gRPC Web Services and When Should I Use Them? -- Visual Studio Magazine (Peter Vogel) - A very good post that clarifies things. I'm looking forward to see the example with .Net Core.

• A Start-To-Finish Guide to Docker for .NET (Daniel Hilgarth) - This is a great docker introduction, yes focusing on .Net usage... But still really good for all.
• Highlights from Git 2.23 ( Taylor Blau) - This was the first time I notice an update of git... It is very intriguing to see such a powerful tool evolving and see some experimental feature. It's a long post, but totally worth it.
• Why you should think twice about contributing to Open Source (Rafiullah Hamedy) - Contributing to an opensource project is both frightening and rewarding. Nice post that could help you to start in a better position.

• How to Setup an Ubuntu Linux VM in Azure with Remote Desktop (RDP) Access (Chris Pietschmann) - This post is a nice walkthrough to set-up our own VM.

• Build Data-Driven Web Apps Blazing Fast with Blazor and OData ( Jeremy Likness) - This post is a great tutorial that explains how to build a complete todo list use that tech. Really cool.
• Developing Docker-Powered Applications on Windows with WSL 2 - Docker Blog (Antonis Kalipetis) - That new Docker desktop version looks very promising
• GitKraken & Glo Boards Now Support GitHub Actions (Lauren Witte Girard) - Great. Now we only just need the GitHub action...
• Investigating Drag and Drop with Blazor (Chris Sainty) - Interesting share of an experiment.

Living with the Monks: What Turning Off My Phone Taught Me about Happiness, Gratitude, and Focus

I really enjoyed this book. Yes it's light and funny, but don't get fool, there is a deeper message here. I think Jessy wins his challenge by going into a monastery so we don't have to. We all have what it takes to live a more purposeful life, we just need to pause. Showdown, to go faster, do less to do more... Embrace the silence.

• Azure Blob Storage SAS Guidelines (Mark Heath) - Great post that shares best practices.
• Containerized Azure Pipelines Agent using Docker with WSL2 (Wes MacDonald) - Wsl 2 looks incredibly interesting... This post shows one more reason why you should also be looking forward to using it in your everyday work.

Programming

• 10 Tips For Debugging in Production (Molly Struve) - A very interesting real-life story... Will they find the solution?
• Clean up your code with destructuring (Carl) - Interesting way to keep your code clean. It uses a different syntax but seems to work well.
• How to write 90% cleaner code with Hooks 5535657251 (Amandeep Singh) - Okay. I don't know React, but it's really nice to see that framework continue to evolve like that with his community. A very interesting post.

Podcasts

• Economics of Kubernetes, with Owen Rog (Craig and Adam) - Really interesting episode. Of course all the news about Kubernetes were interesting, but even more the economics of cloud computing with the guess of the week, Owen Rog.

• Docker Desktop for WSL 2 integrates Windows 10 and Linux even closer (Scott Hanselman) - Nice thoughts about the new upcoming wsl2.
• Top 3 Tools For Boosting Your Productivity (Emma Wedekind) - Oh, it's a bummer that not all suggestions are multi-platform because they ALL look amazing.

• 21 VSCode Shortcuts to Make Coding Faster and More Fun (Christopher Tran) - I love shortcuts... This post provides a nice list of then with a quit use case.
• ASP.NET Core and Blazor updates in .NET Core 3.0 Preview 6 (Daniel Roth) - Nice thatt explains the chnges in this new version and also how to migrate.
• Authentication in server-side Blazor applications (Gunnar Peipman) - Nice overview of the authentication feature now available in .Net Core version 3
• How to create your own custom URL shortener in 10 minutes for free & deploy to GitHub 5535756960 (Liyas Thomas) - This is a cool project. I like the idea that it can even live in GitHub.
• Take your Linux development experience in Windows to the next level with WSL and Visual Studio Code Remote | Windows Command Line Tools For Developers (Craig Loewen) - Nice tricks to get the best of two systems altogether.
• What is Blazor and why is it important for .Net developers and the web (Maourice Gonzalez) - If you think blazor is a jacket, here where to start to learn more about this awesome about one of the latest Microsoft project.

• Coding after work - Episode 43 - Blazor with Ed Charbeneau (Jimmy and Jessica) - Nice episode, where Ed talks about what's cool in Blazor and how Telerik started working on components for it
• Hanselminutes - Creating video games with C# and Mono with Tom Spilman (Scott Hanselman) - Very interesting conversation around games and C#. I thought most big games were done in C++... Nice discovery.
• Coacing for Leaders - Find Your Leadership Voice, with Johanna Nalau (Dave Stachowiak) - Nice episode explaining how a group can help you to grow and become a better "you", and that blogging is still a great way to structure/ but together our thoughts.

• My Personal Git Tricks Cheatsheet (Antonin Januska) - This is a list of awesome tricks and idea for our Git daily usage.
• Using EasyAuth (AppService Authentication) with ASP.NET Core (Maxime Rouiller) - A cool tutorial that explains a workaround to do an easyAuth in .Net Core.

Podcasts

• Methods to Organize Your Learning Process with Lourdes Montano (Scott Hanselman) - Great episode, a few methods, or ideas of organization resonate with me. Definitely interesting.
• How to Use External Storage in Docker (Brett Fisher) - Nice short episode that explains how to think (or when to think) about storage while working with containers.
• Episode 68: The Rise of the Cloud-First Generation with Christina Warren (Corey Quinn) - A very interesting episode. They is no "best way", all path go somewhere and have advantages. As my journey was not straight forward, I totally agree with that.
• #313: 3 Steps to Finding Freedom to Focus (Ken Coleman and Michael Hyatt) - The work-life balance... not an easy thing to answer... I enjoyed this episode exploring, suggesting a way to improve (get closer) to a balance.

• 403: Transition Well Through Your Day, with Gretchen Rubin (Dave Stachowiak) - Doing a little bit of catching up with this podcast, but I'm glad I did! Not only the episode was good but now I have to books that I'm really looking forward to read!
• Which Online Courses are Worth Investing In? (and how do you decide?) (Meredith Marsh - Great question! I then to try to go the source and try/learn it by my self... what do you do?

Books

Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts. (Brené Brown) - A nice book. pack with a lot of information. A lot's of stories to emphasize her points, I always like that. It was maybe a little too much cartesian for me... many steps. Or maybe I was not in a good mindset. Good book however.
